Our Platform for Students towards Sustainability (Psst!) is a cross-university support platform for student activities in the field of sustainability at all Bernese universities. It serves as a first point of contact for students who want to get involved in this area.

Stadt vernetzt Natur
"Stadt vernetzt Natur" offers a real-world laboratory for the innovative realisation of the goals for ecological infrastructure in the residential area of the city of Bern. The project works towards the efforts of the cantons, which want to jointly realise a nationwide network of ecologically valuable areas by 2040. In addition to planned cantonal measures with municipalities and owners of larger areas of land, the project aims to examine the potential of civil society actions. To this end, biodiversity action days with voluntary participants in the city of Bern are being planned together with external partners.
Simulation of Our Common Future (2030 SDGs Game)
This project aims to organise an interactive workshop on the 2030 Agenda in the city of Bern. The workshop is based on the 2030 SDGs Game, which was developed in Japan in 2016. In international cooperation with the NGO lmacocollabo, the facilitator Joel Mitchell will be invited to Bern to facilitate this event. The 2030 SDGs Game is an intervention in which sustainable development can be experienced in an interactive role-playing game. Participants simulate the development of the world up to the year 2030 in a co-creative, participatory process.
Reclaiming Economics for a sustainable Transformation
To establish a sustainable economic system and to overcome social, ecological and economic challenges, a long-term and sustainable transformation is needed. The economic sciences are an important lever in this process: The economy should operate within a social framework and must serve social objectives. In addition, the economy must remain within the planetary boundaries and not overexploit natural resources and the environment. With a planned lecture series in the spring semester of 2024, students will be shown how economic pluralism can contribute to a sustainable transformation.

Olis Kohle
Switzerland imports 99 per cent of its charcoal and wood briquettes from abroad. Analyses by WWF Switzerland show that wood declarations are often false, insufficient or misleading, that some products still contain tropical timbers and that in several cases the risk of illegality and/or overexploitation cannot be ruled out. The project "Oli's Kohle" strengthens charcoal production in Switzerland through its own domestic production. The charcoal produced is made from Swiss wood as purely, efficiently and with fewer emissions as possible. All within a distance of roughly 20 kilometres.
Plantbox
Die «Plantbox» umfasst Themenkisten, welche in diversen Bibliotheken an pädagogischen Hochschulen ausgeliehen werden können. In der Unterrichtseinheit wird den Schüler*innen das Thema rund um das Anpflanzen von Gemüsen und Kräutern nähergebracht, gleichzeitig wird ihnen gezeigt, wie sie anhand gewisser Lernstrategien das Gelernte nachhaltig verarbeiten können. Als Höhepunkt wird ihnen vermittelt, wie man eine Box mit lokalen Gemüsen und Kräutern anbaut und bewirtschaftet.
BNE Aktuell
Das Projektteam erstellt eine Homepage, auf welcher fertige Lerneinheiten von aktuellen Nachhaltigkeitsthemen zur Verfügung gestellt werden. Dies bietet Lehrpersonen die Möglichkeit, aktuelle Nachhaltigkeitsthemen mit der Klasse zu behandeln, ohne dass ein grosser Mehraufwand geleistet werden muss.
Entwicklung einer nachhaltigen Geschäftsidee mit Jugendlichen (Businessplan und Budgetierung für Jugendliche der Sekundarstufe I)
Im Rahmen eines Workshops setzen sich Jugendliche der Sekundarstufe I während einer Woche mit dem Thema „nachhaltige Unternehmensführung“ auseinander. Es handelt sich bei diesem Pilotprojekt um eine Frühförderung im Entrepreneurship und der Innovation.
Gleich für gleich: Lohnentwicklung in der Schweiz seit 2008
Das Projektteam kreiert eine progressive Web Application zur Visualisierung der Schweizer Lohnlandschaft. Durch eine ansprechende, intuitive Darstellung der Lohndaten soll das Projekt einen Beitrag zur Förderung von Lohntransparenz in der Schweiz leisten und statistische Kennzahlen für alle zugänglich machen.
Gender and Sustainability. All Gender Restrooms für die Theologische Fakultät
Das Projekt soll die Frage nach der Einführung von All Gender Restrooms exemplarisch an der Theologischen Fakultät der Universität Bern aus transdisziplinärer Perspektive in den Fokus stellen. Damit geht es um die übergeordnete Kategorie nachhaltiger Entwicklung von nachhaltigen Lebensstilen und gutem Leben.
